Okay, first, it all depends on the kind of hair it is. Straight hair can be thick, thin, fine and thin (';flyaway';), coarse, or fine, or any combination.
The way your hair behaves has to do with its molecular makeup. From what you said, it sounds like your hair could be either thick or thin.
If it's thick, one reason it doesn't hold curl could be because you're curling sections of hair that are too large. It takes longer to do it right, but it's worth it. Before curling the hair, spray it with a holding spray. Make sure that when you curl your hair you do small sections (1 inch) of hair. Also, curl it in layers. Spray each curl with styling spray or hairspray after you let it out of the curling iron. You'll get a head full of ringlets. If you don't want it to look like that, wait until your hair is cool and gently run your fingers through the curls so they are looser.
Coarse hair holds curl better than fine hair, so if your hair is fine, it's more prone to go flat more quickly. Get around this by curling your hair for longer than you think is necessary, like a whole minute for a one-inch section. Experiment with your hair type to see how long it takes. Do the spray before and after each curl, and try to wind the hair around the curling iron evenly.
Whatever the hair type, make sure to spray it before and after each curl (don't soak it, but make sure it has the product on it), use smaller sections, hold the heat for a good while, and give it another good all-over spray after your whole head has cooled.
Good luck! How to curl straight hair and what product do you use?
when u get out of the shower use Paul Mitchell ';the creme'; (that'll get ride of frizzand the sticking together) after that use L.A. Looks ';curl look'; (it's blue gel) and scrunch your hair. finish it off with an aerosol hair spray (while scrunching). that works for me! it stays in all day and no frizz! good luck!
I use the a hair curler, which is usually by the company conair!
well,
or you can use a straightner, and curl it with it too!
