How can I get really nice looking straight hair with a normal straightener?

It always looks really brittle after I straighten. Am I doing something wrong? How can I get really nice looking straight hair with a normal straightener?
Unfortunately, straightening irons are very drying and the ';brittle-ness'; of your hair is actually it gradually getting burned. I learned that it is much better to blow-dry your hair. Your hair will be much healthier and look great. Try styling with a circular bristle brush (like they do when you get your hair cut) and flip out the ends. I've gotten tons of compliments. How can I get really nice looking straight hair with a normal straightener?
try using a different shampoo. i have thin fine hair and i use suave amphfily it works as well as the expensive stuff does.
You need to use a really good conditioner in your hair before using a hot iron like that. Look for a heavier type of conditioner since your hair is brittle. Leave the conditioner in your hair for about 10 min. then rinse it out, this helps condition it really well. Good luck!
I HAVE SUPER CURLY HAIR AND I JUST STARTED STRAIGHTING MY HAIR AND IT LOOKS BEATIFUL I USE HOT TOOLS FLAT IRON. AND ORGANIC OLIVE OIL SHEEN SPRAY AND IT SMELL GOOD TOO. ITS A GREEN BOTTLE AND U CAN GET AT SALLYS BEAUTY SUPPLY STORE TRUST ME REALLY WORKS. GOOD LUCK
i work in a weave store i know some types to have your hair straight theres something called castor oil or something. just condition your hair
ceramic straighteners work better because they cause much less heat damage on your hair and are less drying. i use one every day and my hair is healthy and not overdryed.
CERAMNES FLAT IRON-STRAIGHTENER) THEY AT WAL-MART,SALLY,K-MARTS, PLACES LIKE THAT.LITE CONDITONOR ,(OIL SHEEN) BEFORE JUST A DIME SIZE IF U HAVE SHINE NORMALY HAIR I HAVE BEEN DOING HAIR SINCE 11YEARSOLD.
Theres a straightner that straightens hair without it being dry or brittle, its a lil on the expensive side but it works. Even on the most thickest curliest hair.
After you get out of the shower blot your hair with towel. Take blow dryer and in sections blow dry your hair straight with a brush, make sure nozzle pointing down and follows the comb as you brush your hair down. Place hair serum or conditioner or any kind of smoothing serum to your hair. Then proceed with straightener and you should have a shiny finish ;)
try to use some paul mitchell's super skinny serum before you straighten out each section of your hair.its like fifteen dollars but really worth it because it works great and you can find it in salons, plus it makes your hair smell good and not dry or burned...especially on your tips because that's where your hair's most vulnerable
