How do I give my flat straight hair more body?

My hair is quite thick and can be wavy if I don't blow dry it, but all I usually do is blow dry it straight and take a straightening iron to it, but I want it to be fuller at the roots. How do I accomplish this? How do I give my flat straight hair more body?
Before you dry it, put a volumizing mouse or gel at the roots. After your hair is all dry and straightened, use a light, aerosol hairspray - hold sections of hair on top of your head straight up and blast with the hairspray, then hold up until it dries. Do this all around the top of your head and you'll have super voluminous roots!!

During the day, you can use your fingers with maybe a touch of water to fluff it back up, in case it falls flat again. The water will help re-activate your styling products. How do I give my flat straight hair more body?
While your hair is fairly damp, put in volumizing mousse or some other hair product with ';volumizing'; powers. I suggest Garnier Fructis. That stuff really works and it smells nice too :]

Then, flip your head upside down and blow-dry your hair that way. When you flip it back up, you'll have great volume from the roots as well as all over body volume. Plus it makes your hair look all shiny and flowy ahah. On the back of the Garnier Fructis bottle thing, it has directions on how to get different volumizing styles.

If you just want volumizing roots without flipping your head over, work the mousse through your hair and then take a brush and take a chunk of hair with the brush and hold it away from your head so that you're holding the brush with your hair straight up from your head. Blow dry each chunk of hair individually and you'll have volumous roots.

Trust me, both these techniques work. (:

Also, opt for volumizing shampoo and conditioner for that extra ';boost';.

Good luck!

well one thing, if you want more volume, you could use root lifter, it should tell you how to use it. there are certain products you could buy at places like sally hansen, you should ask your hairstylist what the best product for your hair is though. and as far as straightening it, you should use a protector.
Volumizing shampoo and mousse products....they are wonderful....if not ask your salon persona and they have tons of things u can use..
