What are some tips for keeping long, straight hair curled for an entire day?

I am getting married in July, and I am desperate to find a product (gel, spray, mousse, etc.) and a curling iron or hot rollers that will actually make my hair hold the curl for the rest of the day.

I have tried both hot rollers and a curling iron and then sprayed the curls with hair spray, but it never holds like I wish it would.

Any suggestions??

Thanks! What are some tips for keeping long, straight hair curled for an entire day?
My suggestion is to get a good hairspray with low amounts of alcohol and get a Marcel curling iron. (You might need to go to a beauty supply store) Oh and its a type of curling iron not a brand. Then once the iron is hot you take the strand of hair starting at the roots and rap it around JUST the barrel. This allows all of the hair to touch the hot part of the iron and the roots stay on a little longer then the ends. It also makes beautiful curls that I do on brides a lot!! They look natural!! Then spray each curl right after you are done curling it. I would suggest having a friend do they curling for you as it is really easy to burn yourself ex specially when you are trying to curl the hair in the back! What are some tips for keeping long, straight hair curled for an entire day?
Paul Mitchell's hairspray sold in salons and at walmart.
If you are just trying to make it stay curly for that one day (you wedding), I would recommend just having it done at a nice salon. The cost would be almost equivalent of having to go buy styling products. Also, whenever I have had an updo, it always always always stays much better and tighter than anything I have tried to do myself.

If you insist on doing it yourself, try spraying some good hairspray (I recommend bumble and bumble) right before you take the curling iron to it, and again after. This will leave some build up on your iron, but it works a lot better than just putting the product on afterwards.
Use the plastic, snap on, magnetic rollers with the smooth barrel and then apply a setting lotion to wet/damp hair. This way your curls last all day long.
i have the same problem. you just have to use some plastic curlers and then spray your hair with a low alcohol hair spray(damages hair) try going to either a salon or a drug store for the best product for your hair. if you do get it styled by a professional you should ask them how to maintain the curls for a whole day without a perm.
wash your hair the nights before and put in rag curls, or pin curls (just like in the 80s?) the next morning use a curling iron to set them more and then use lots and lots of product. it should last you the day.

on another note, i always thought you should look like you on your wedding day. its probably none of my business but long straight hair is beautiful and thats how your fiancee fell in love with you. i say do it on your honeymoon, make it like a sexy surprise
