I have very annoying wavy hair. I have tried using a flat iron on it before, but it either ruins my hair or doesn't work properly. I also don't like to use blow-dryers, because they make my hair frizzy and dry. Does anyone know of any shampoos or anything I can use to get completely straight hair? Thanks! How do I get straight hair without having to use a flat iron every day?
If your not getting it straight with a flat iron or a blow dryer then either your useing the wrong products or shampoos, or your not doing it correctly. Lets start with your shampoo and conditioner, Use a professional product bought from a salon. Redken smooth down, paul mitchell smoothing, kms flat out...those are all great smoothing shampoos and conditioners. Next we need to discuss what products you are useing on your hair. I recommend a relaxing balm or a serum, maybe even both, or a smoothing cream. Here are a few i recommend, Paul mitchell super skinny relaxing balm(smooths frizz and curls but also has some memory to hold a style), super skinny serum(has no memory, strickly to smooth frizz and loosen curls) %26lt;----(you can mix the two together equal parts)
Kms flat out blow drying cream, redken straight. Chi silk infusion, chi straight guard. These are my favorite products.
Now to the styleing:
Two ways you can go about this, either way has to start with a blow dryer and your blow dryer should have a nozzle to keep it from getting frizzy (that flat mouthed end you attatch to your blow dryer) You can flat wrap your hair with a big paddle brush pushing the hair in all directions while blowdrying.
Or you can use a big round brush (depending on the length of your hair) Use clips and section your hair starting at the front and sides. Round brush the sections around your forehead forward. On your sides start with the section at the bottom near your ear. Keep the nozzle directed behind the brush , not under the brush because then it will blow the hair up causeing frizz instead of down makeing it smooth. Also keep the brush and the blow dryer in contact. Kinda like you are flat ironing the hair with the nozzle against your hair and the brush. Once you get most of the wave out doing this go to your flat iron and take one inch sections and spray a heat protectant as you go such as chi iron guard, this will protect the hair from damage. Take your time, if you go over the peices too quickly you won't get it straight, and remember the products are keeping it from scortching your hair so its ok to take your time with the flat iron, just don't hold it in one spot, go down the section of hair, not stopping but at a slow pace. Also make sure your useing a good flat iron, chi is great and don't use a wide flat iron because then you can't get up close to the root.
Finish with a serum like the paul mitchell super skinny serum or chi silk infusion to add a little shine and keep thinks straight all day.
Your next option is to get it chemically straightened, if you do decide to go this route I strongly recommend Chi straightening system, its going to be the least damageing but also a little costly, but worth it in the end. Stay away from brazilian treatments as they are horrible for your hair. I have in my hair at the moment keratin complex treatment by coppola, it infuses keratin back into the hair and smoothes the hair shaft down. It eliminates 30 to 40% of curl and eliminates all the frizz. Its usually around $350, kinda pricey but so worth it. Also it isn't a chemical straightener so it doesn't have a regrowth line as it grows out, it just wares off your hair about 6 months later. My hair was really wavey, damaged and frizzy, I had it done, and my hair stopped breaking almost completely and looked like a new head of hair. I still had some curl but i could blow dry it right out easily and no frizz at all.I had it done twice because my hair was chemically damaged from lighteners and color, so I really needed the added keratin. Hope I helped by giving you some options and tips.
Just remember
shampoo, conditioner and styleing products won't do the job by themselves, they are there to make it easier for you to style, but they wont work by themselves. How do I get straight hair without having to use a flat iron every day?
You can use a curling iron! but most people get confused with that so... there's this cream called Vatika, and it has a bunch of products, ao choose the styling cream bottle, it's like a olay bottle but flatter and rounder, it helps to control frizz even after a blowdryer and it doesn't make you hair hard or look oily ... and it smells nice too =)
try some of the pantene shampoos,
or herbal essences.
there's ones especially for straigh hair.
but you're probably gonna have to use a flat iron every now and then,
unless you get a perma-straight.
but that fries your hair.

i say you should use straightening products. you dont have to waste money on something that works just as well but cheaper. use garnier nutrisse smoothing milk. makes hair soft, shiny, and managable. also, john frieda frizzease flawless finishing cream. works great and keeps hair in place and straight. hope i helped a lot!
you cant get it straight without the iron,
but like you can try using Sunsilk conditioner they make like 5 different kinds and there is one that is liike, want straight hair? idk it works really goood,
The only other way is to get your hair chemically straightened.
I recommend a korean hair salon considering they're pretty much expects on that - magic straight perm. It makes your hair alot smoother and straight, lasting for about a few months.
heat is the only thing thats going to get it really straight.
