How can I make my straight-hair wavy without having to go to the salon or anything?

I've always loved wavy hair, that looks like you just got out of the water and it air dried (like at the beach). My hair is very dark brown and basically straight. I have John Frieda's ';Beach Blonde'; hair spray, but it makes my hair feel greasy or dirty, because of the salt. What are other ways I can make my hair wavy at home?? Any suggestions. How can I make my straight-hair wavy without having to go to the salon or anything?
I have my daughter sleep in braids at night, then undo them and spray them in the morning. Works like a charm and no damage to the hair. How can I make my straight-hair wavy without having to go to the salon or anything?
what type of braid? a french or regular?

1.Part your hair first. 2. Make 3 braids on each side. 3. Get a straightener and start from the top of your hair and CLAP the straightener until you get to the bottom. Do each piece seperatly. 4. let your her out and it will be wavy. I saw it on tv. I do it to my hair all the time. It takes 10 min.

I have naturally very curly hair and I gotta tell you it's overrated..lol. But, if you really want it all you have to do is either put curlers in when you go to bed at night and leave them in or put them in after your morning shower and leave them in until you leave. Just make sure you get the really big curlers if you want wavy. The smaller the curlers the tighter the curl. The spongy ones are cheap and you can buy them really big!
All you have to do is go in the shower, wash your hair with your favorite shampoo AND conditioner and while rinsing out your hair scrunch it. Wrap your hair in a turban. Dont do ANYTHING to your hair or the turban.Use the time to get dressed, put makeup on, or whatever you wanna do for 10-20 minutes. Unwrap the turban and comb through with a wide tooth comb. Scrunch your hair again and spray with hairspray. Your Wavy hair look should last throughout the day and doesnt really cost anything and works great.

Good Luck!
Cut up old clean nylons in 1 inch strips and wrap damp hair around them to the scalp. once hair dries Voila. Use a curling product with it and it will hold the curl longer.
You might be able to find something like one of those straightening irons, but with wavy plates instead of flat. I remember having one when I was younger, a crimper with wavy plates, but I don't know if they sell them anymore.

Sometimes you can braid your hair when it's wet, leave it in, like overnight while sleeping, then take the braid out in the AM and your hair will be wavy.
go to the closest drug store and buy a crimper its the best way. Get your hair damp place some max hold gel dosen't have to be the sticky kind and then crimp. Plus alot of brand feature diffrent attachment for diffrent sized waves whatever you like.
Try Bumble and Bumble Curl Conscious or Finesse Curl defining mousse. I like B%26amp;B better. Try to part your hair to smaller sections and roll your hair around your fingers when you dry your hair.
Get you hair dry or almost dry. Rub a little gel between you hands and smooth it through your hair. Twist your hair into a few small buns all over you head and pin the buns to your scalp. Leave them in for at least 20-30 minutes or until completely dry. You can use a hair dryer to help set them.
You can try braiding your hair really loosely and then putting a bit of gel on it. It's temporary, though.
First isn't there Beach Brunette? Anyway try a curler and than comb your hair but not to hard. then spray with Beach Blonde. Just try thats similar to what I do.
Tie it up in a bun when it's wet and wear it like that for a few hours or make a braid. The best thing to do is to sleep with it in either the bun or the braid and in the morning loosen it with your fingers. You can try a little bit of curl activating gels or mousse so that the waves stay in place.
dont i bet your hair looks great straight
